Ingredients
Vazhaikai - 2 nos
Onion chopped - 2tsp
Fennel powder - 1tsp
Sambar powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
mustard - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaf - 5 leaves
Asafotida powder - a pinch
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 3tsp

Preparation Method
Wash Vazhaikai, cut both the ends, peel the skin off, lay it horizontally and dice them into approx 0.5cm thick circles. You may get your hands and nails spoiled from the sticky gum like liquid that comes from vazhaikai so you can use kitchen gloves if you prefer to keep your nails neat.
Now Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Reduce the heat to low and add mustard when its done popped add asafotida powder, chopped onion and curry leaves. Stir for a min and add diced vazhaikai, salt, fennel powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and sambar powder. Sprinkle a handfull of water, stir, cover with lid and cook for 7 min. Open the lid and add a tsp of oil, stir and cook for 2 min uncovered and its done
