Chick pea

The Tamil name for Chick pea is "Konda Kadalai" or simply "Kadalai".

In present day, Tamil cuisine and in general Indian cuisine, Chick pea plays a major role. In Tamil cusine, there are various ways of using "Konda Kadalai":

Chick pea boiled:
Boil Chick pea in cooker. Use them for making Sundal.
You can also mix chick pea with potato in Potato fry and several other dishes like Kuzhambu, Kuruma etc...
Note: Before boiling, soak them in water over night.

Deep fried Chick pea:
Deep fried Chick peas mixed with a little chilli powder and salt makes a great savoury. Goes well with evening snack along with Chai (tea) or Coffee.

Sundal, Chick Pea Kuruma (Called as Kadalai Kuruma in Tamil language)
