The typical definition for the term "Vegetarian" as used by Tamil people will denote all food items that does not have egg or meat or sea food.
Breakfast is usually vegetarian.
Vegetarian food is consumed during festivals and auspicious days.
Desserts are vegetarian too. Egg is not used in our desserts.
We have organized the recipe list under breakfast, lunch, dinner, sweets and snacks.
The meals are traditionally served on a banana leaf.
There is always a main dish and side dish in our menu.
For eg: For breakfast we will have Idly and sambar. Idly is considered as main dish and Sambar is the side dish. Similarly for lunch, the main dish will be some curry with rice and side dish will be some fry or saute. The meaning of main dish and side dish that Indians use versus what the world uses is a little different.
