Spices

Spices are very important for South Indian cooking.

Some think spice as a powder as in masala powder. Some think spice as when your food is really hot and say its "spicy" food.

Wikipedia defines Spice as a seed, fruit, root, bark, berry, bud or vegetable substance primarily used for flavoring, coloring or preserving food.

India accounts for over 75% of Spice cultivation of the world.
In South India, Kerala is famous for Spice cultivation.
