Man satti

Man satti or just Satti means a vessel made out of mud.
Man or Mun means Sand or Mud.
Its equivalent could be ceramic but less expensive one.
It is the traditional earthen pot of Tamil Nadu.

Kuzhambu made using Satti is delicious. Nowdays Satti is coming back to our lives. There are speciality restaurants cooking and serving food in Satti.

Most important part of using Satti is, tempering it to ensure that it can be usable for making food. This process is very important.

Otherwise, food we cook in this vessel may not taste good. This tempering process may involve boiling all veggies in the vessel and then followed by boiling rice and keep it soaked for several hours. When you buy chatti they will teach you.
