Briyani

Briyani is not a traditional food for Tamils or even for Indians until couple of centuries ago. This dish came to India thru Persians and right now, Briyani is everywhere. It has become so famous with office goers and busy people, because it is one food that contains all in it - meaning - Briyani in one dish gives the taste of main dish and side dish. Some people refer this as similar to Fried rice but it is way different in style and taste. There is veg and non-veg Briyani.

Briyani can be made just using Vegetables or with Meat.

Most famous meat Briyani is Mutton Briyani. The others are Chicken and Turkey. Turkey Briyani is made on special occassions. Both Chicken and Mutton Briyani are available everywhere 24/7 these days. It is also common to see homes making Chicken and Mutton Briyani.

Nowadays, seafood Briyani is popping up. Particularly Shrimp briyani is getting famous.
