Japanese Quail (Kaadai)

"Kaadai" in Tamil language refers to a small bird called "Quail".

Quail meat dishes are part of our cusine for years. Until few years ago, they are famous in country side than in the city.

Nowadays, near our hometown, we are getting a variety of Quail called Japanese Quail. We will be making dishes using this.

Unlike other bird meat, like Chicken(, which if we buy one whole chicken is good to make dish for 4-5 people), we have to buy 4-5 Kaadai to make enough quantity of dish.
