Chutney is the famous side dish for Breakfast dish like Idly or Dosa. There are a many kinds of Chutney. Let us see some of the common and famous Chutney here.

The main difference between Chutney and thuvayal is that thuvayal is thick whereas chutney is watery. Of course there are some ingredient which we use gives the basic difference in taste.

Coconut chutney:
Simple coconut chutney can be made by grinding coconut, chilli and ginger into a thick paste. You can add split dals along with coconut. Then add water to dilute them. Finally add tempered mustard seeds. In olden days, we used ammi kallu to make the chutney. More detailed recipe is on the way.
