How to make Aappam Batter

Aappam Batter is needed to make Aappam or Egg Aappam.

Appam batter has to be prepared the day before and leave it over night to ferment.

Unlike Idly Dosai batter (which are available in super markets in India as well as in some places in abroad), Aappam batter must be made at home.

Wash rice and dal together for 3-4 times in water, fill double the quantity of water to the content, add fenugreek seeds and let it soak for 4 hrs.

Clean the wet grinder, add the mixture draining the excess water and grind it, add water now and then while its grinding so that the batter doesn't gets too thick and tight.

When it reaches to a fine smooth batter switch of the grinder and transfer the batter to a clean dry storage box, cover it with lid and let it ferment over night for about 8-10 hrs.

The next morning batter is ready to make Appam.
