Beans Poriyal

Though Beans is not a traditional vegetable of ours, we have made a wonderful side dish - Beans Poriyal in a traditional way.

The best part of Beans Poriyal is, it is simple to make and it is delicious.

Ingredients

Preparation

Clean and chop the Beans into small pieces.

Heat water in a pan and cook the Beans until it gets soft.
Usually this takes about 5-7 min.

Now let us do the tempering.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when it splatters add urad dal.

When it turns golden brown add curry leaves, green chili and chopped shallots, fry for 2 min.

Add cooked Beans (as done in Step 2), along with salt and grated coconut and fry well 2 mins to get a mild crisp.

Transfer to a bowl and serve hot for the lunch course.
